BEIJING, May 23 (PRIME) -- At least five Chinese companies can suspend production of units for Russia’s liquefied natural gas project Arctic LNG-2 until the end of May, South China Morning Post reported on May 22.
A source with one of the contractors Bomesc Offshore Engineering said that no final decision has been made yet. The company “keeps in close touch with all the concerned parties,” because “the situation changes every day,” the person said.
The U.S. $27 billion Arctic LNG-2 plant is to be launched in 2022–2025 with fields of the Gydan Peninsula in the north of West Siberia used as the resource base. The facility is expected to produce 19.8 million tonnes of LNG per year.
